Description
Bruckmann & Sohne Silver Dinner Fork from Adolf Hitler`s First Dining Wagon 10 ‘242’
A Fabulous and very rare art deco-styled Bruckmann & Sohne Silver Dinner Fork, specially produced for the Deutsche Reichsbahn Sonderzugs.
This beautiful little fork was used on Hitler’s very first dining wagon ‘242’ on the first Führersonderzug, and Hitler may well have used this very fork to twirl his spagetti at the diner table?
The fork handle has a tapered edge to obverse and reverse, and a resting flat on the reverse high point. The obverse features a finely detailed Deutsche Reichsbahn Eagle with wreathed Swastika straddled by the letters D and R all in relief to the bottom of the handle. To the reverse is found the stamped Bruckmann & Sohne ‘RM800 Eagle and Crown’ (indicating 800 silver content) makers mark, and then the impressed number ‘242’ indicating the wagon number.
Condition:
The fork displays surface marks and tiny scratches, and there is a bit more wear to the fork tips on this one. Overall a beautiful display piece, extremely rare, very seldom seen ‘Hitler’ DR utensil. A superb investment piece.
