Bruckmann Silver ‘ALPAKA’ Ragout-Fin Cup Holder (Ragoutphaennchen) from Hermann Göring`s primary Dining Wagon 10 ‘241’
A Scarce Bruckmann Silver Ragout-Fin Cup Holder (Ragoutphaennchen), specially produced for the Deutsche Reichsbahn Sonderzugs.
The cup carries designation marks for Hermann Göring`s Sonderzug ‘Asien’, and in particular carriage number ‘241’ which was Göring`s primary dining wagon.
Göring`s dining primary car, ’10 241′ was delivered in 1937, and modernized in 1941 with the addition of an electric kitchen and indirect fluoresecent lighting, during this ‘refit’ wagon number ’10 243′ was temporarily used for his dining requirements
The little cup is accentuated with a lovely scrolling handle. The upper front features a fantastic and finely detailed Deutsche Reichsbahn Eagle with wreathed Swastika straddled by the letters D and R all in relief. To the underside is found the stamped Bruckmann ‘B’ along with a locomotive symbol makers mark, followed by ’ALPAKA’ indicating heavy silver plate, and then the impressed number ‘241’ indicating the wagon number.
Condition:
Minor surface marks and scratches, a little linear score to the top of the scrolled handle, some darkening and patination to the silver. a superb investment and beautiful display piece, a rare DR item.
