Historically Rare, Third Reich, Deutsche Reichsbahn, Formal Tablecloth, from Adolf Hitler`s 50th Birthday glass observation wagon 10 282.

Deutsche Reichsbahn Tablecloth, produced for wagon number 10 282. The carriage was presented to Adolf Hitler for his 50th birthday in 1939 and was a unique all glass observation wagon intended to be incorporated into his personal train, the Führersonderzug “Amerika”, but due to the outbreak of WWII this did not happen. The tablecloth is one of only two known to exist today making it historically rare.

Condition:
The tablecloth is produced in fine beige coloured cloth which has a gold silky appearance with finely machine embroidered large Deutsche Reichsbahn eagle and swastika with D to the left and R to the right. To the bottom left corner is stitched the number ‘282’. The tablecloth is in superb, near mint condition, very minor marks, and fold crease lines from storage.
The carriage itself is known to have ended up on the Orient Express some time after the war, and may still be in use today. Items relating to this particular carriage are extremely rare and are seldom found.
