  • 1936 OLYMPIC SOUVENIR PORCELAIN BELL BY KPM

1936 OLYMPIC SOUVENIR PORCELAIN BELL BY KPM

A beautiful off-white porcerlain replica of the Olympic Bell at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin where the 11th Olympic Summer Games took place in 1936. Around the main body of the bell are found, all in relief, on one side the dates ‘1.-16. August’, on the opposite side the year ‘1936’ flanked by oak? leaves, then we have the Imperial German Eagle clutching the Olympic rings in it’s talons, and on it’s opposite side is the Brandenburg Gate, there is a little German/Viking rune beneath the gate which is almost always overlooked, this rune may (not 100% sure) symbolise Divine protection & sanctuary. To the bottom rim are the words: ‘Ich rufe die Jugend der Welt’ (I am calling the youth of the world) and ’11. Olympische+Spiele+Berlin (11th Olympic Games Berlin), the two sentences are seperated by a mobile Swastika. the top of the bell is capped with a four pronged crown toped woth a mounting/hanging ring hole. Underside of the bell houses the porcelain clapper attached with a little ‘S’ wire. The blue-green KPM (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur) maker mark is applied to the inside top.
Originally these beautiful little Olympic souvenirs came with a blackened circular wooden display base, unfortunately this one is without the base.
A lovely Third Reich collectable from the controversial 11th Olympic games hosted by Germany, in which Jesse Owens out ran his Aryan German counterparts.

From 1935 to 1937, wagon number ’10 203′ was made available to Hitler as ‘the Leader`s Car’, and it fulfilled his needs as his private/personal wagon on which he slept, washed, and ate, it also boasted a dining table with seating for eight people where Hitler could have ‘business’ lunch or dinner with his Generals and political leaders, etc., It was later replaced by ’10 206′, which was to be Hitler`s private wagon until the end of the war. However, ’10 203′ was then listed as the “Fuhrer’s reserve company car”, which means that it could be used again for Hitler in the event that wagon number 10 206 failed, although it could be made available to other ministers or military personnel depending on the situation.
