Bruckmann Silver Gravy Ladle from Hermann Göring’s Dining Wagon 10 ‘243’
A lovely example of a raised edge on this rare Bruckmann Gravy Ladle, specially produced for the Deutsche Reichsbahn Sonderzugs.
The ladle carries designation marks for Hermann Göring’s Sonderzug ‘Asien’, and in particular carriage number ‘243’ which was Göring’s dining wagon.
The handle is accentuated with a raised edge to obverse and reverse. The obverse features a fantastic and finely detailed Deutsche Reichsbahn Eagle with wreathed Swastika straddled by the letters D and R all in relief to the bottom of the handle. To the reverse is found the stamped Bruckmann ‘B’ along with a locomotive symbol makers mark, followed by ’90’ indicating silver plate, and then the impressed number ‘243’ indicating the wagon number.
Condition:
A used item that displays surface marks and tiny scratches, otherwise a beautiful display piece, a fabulous investment, and a rare Göring DR utensil.
