Deutsche Reichsbahn Salt Shaker from the Führersonderzug
A super little Salt shaker, produced for the Deutsche Reichsbahn, and in particular Adolf Hitler’s Führersonderzug, by WMF, Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik.
To the front of the lid are the immpressed designation marks for the Deutsche Reichsbahn, ‘D’ & ‘R’. On the inside of the lid are the manufacturer marks ‘WMF’, and the letters ‘NS’ which indicates Nickel Silver. The glass is eight sidded and there is some mouldy remnants of the original contents which can be seen inside the bottom of the bottle.
This would have been used throughout the Führersonderzug, along with a pepper shaker.
Condition:
The shaker displays tiny surface marks and and some mild tarnishing, glass bottle has no cracks, just some minor surface wear, overall lovely condition, a lovely little display piece. Excellent investment piece.
