Nymphenburg Porcelain Teacup from Adolf Hitler`s Private Wagon 10 ‘203’

Nymphenburg Porcelain Teacup from Adolf Hitler`s Private Wagon 10 ‘203’

A beautiful little porcelain Teacup, specially produced by the Nymphenburg factory in Munich for the Deutsche Reichsbahn Sonderzugs.
The cup carries designation marks for Adolf Hitler’s Sonderzug `Fuhrersonderzug F’, later ‘Amerika’, and in particular carriage number ‘203’ which was Hitler`s Private/personal use wagon.
The highly glazed porcelain is accentuated with a fine gold trim to the top of the rim, and further gold trim is applied to either side of the little handle. Centered to the upper body of the cup is the Deutsche Reichsbahn insignia, a gold eagle with wreathed swastika straddled by the letters D and R. To the underside is found the green Nymphenburg crest, and a hand-painted number ‘203’ in black indicating the wagon number.

From 1935 to 1937, wagon number ’10 203′ was made available to Hitler as ‘the Leader`s Car’, and it fulfilled his needs as his private/personal wagon on which he slept, washed, and ate, it also boasted a dining table with seating for eight people where Hitler could have ‘business’ lunch or dinner with his Generals and political leaders, etc., It was later replaced by ’10 206′, which was to be Hitler`s private wagon until the end of the war. However, ’10 203′ was then listed as the “Fuhrer’s reserve company car”, which means that it could be used again for Hitler in the event that wagon number 10 206 failed, although it could be made available to other ministers or military personnel depending on the situation.
